Offline mode of MYOB AccountRight desktop is being phased out

Move your company file online for more automation, better security and access to the latest product improvements.

How to tell if your file is online

If your file is listed under Online (or after you sign in to online services), it’s online. If it only appears under My Library or Network Library, it’s offline. You can see the ‘online’ icon on the bottom right, revealing that this is an online file.

Your questions answered

What is happening to AccountRight offline mode?

From 17 June 2026, offline mode will no longer be available for MYOB AccountRight version 2026.5 desktop app (PC edition). To ensure uninterrupted access after 17 June, you'll need to move your company file online before that date.

The AccountRight desktop app isn't going anywhere – you can keep using it as long as you move your file online. You'll also benefit from product and security updates, support and online services. Future releases will only work with company files stored online.

Why is MYOB making this change?

The offline version of AccountRight is built on technology that no longer meets today’s performance standards. Moving online will:

  • Improve performance, reliability and security, such as 2FA and regular online back-ups
  • Ensure MYOB AccountRight is built on current, supported technology
  • Deliver faster and more frequent improvements, including stronger AI capabilities
  • Align with industry best practice and evolving needs of our customers
When exactly will offline mode stop working?

We sent a notice via email, Community Forum and in product, that offline mode for MYOB AccountRight version 2026.5 desktop app (PC edition) will be ending on 17 June 2026.

We recommend moving your file online before 17 June 2026 to give yourself time to get set up and resolve any issues. However, you can move an offline file online after this date.

Will I still be able to use AccountRight at all?

MYOB AccountRight PC Edition desktop will still work. However, offline mode will not be available for your files.

To ensure uninterrupted access to AccountRight 2026.5 (PC edition) and later versions after 17 June, you'll need to move your company file online.

Your ability to access and work within the file will be impacted.

Additionally, your file will be excluded from bug and security fixes and future feature enhancements.

What if I am not ready to move online by 17 June 2026?

We strongly encourage you to move your file online before 17 June 2026.

After this date, your ability to access and work within the file will be impacted.
