Offline mode of MYOB AccountRight desktop is being phased out

Move your company file online for more automation, better security and access to the latest product improvements.

How to continue to access your AccountRight file

If your AccountRight file is already online, you don’t need to do anything. You will still be able to use AccountRight desktop app, as long as your company file is online.

If you're a customer

To keep using AccountRight you will need to move your file online before 17 June 2026 to:

  • Continue working on your file/s
  • Keep receiving bankfeeds to your file/s
  • Keep receiving support, security fixes and product updates
  • Access online-only features and improvements going forward

There is no additional cost to move your existing subscribed file online.

Once online, you will be able to:

  • Secure your data with automated cloud backups and secure cloud storage
  • Keep access to bankfeeds and activate services like online payments and Pay Super
  • Work together with your team with multi-user access
  • Receive automatic updates, plus, performance and security improvements and future AI-powered features, enhancing the way you work.

If you're an accountant or a bookkeeper

If you’re an accountant or bookkeeper supporting clients using AccountRight:
    • Identify clients still using offline files through the desktop app (PC edition)
    • Discuss their options ahead of 17 June 2026
    • Plan and schedule moving their file online to minimise disruption to their business - there is no additional cost to move existing subscribed files online

Use MYOB resources and guidance to:

    • Check whether a file is online or offline (see FAQs)
    • Move eligible files online (see how)
    • Help offline clients understand their options

Ready to move?

Watch the video or follow the step-by-step help article.

You can move your file online yourself, just follow the step‑by‑step instructions on our help page.

You’ll need:

    • An active AccountRight subscription
    • An activated company file stored in My Library
    • To be a company file administrator and online file owner/online administrator for the MYOB account

The time it takes to upload depends on your file size and internet connection speed.

If you have trouble uploading your file, the help page includes troubleshooting tips (for example, checking your internet speed and security software), and our support team can assist if you’re still stuck.

What if I don't do anything?

If you stay on your current version (PC edition earlier than 2026.5) and do not update, you may be able to keep using your offline file, but:
    • In the near future, these older versions will stop working, and you'll no longer be able to use them
    • You won’t receive any new bug fixes or security updates
    • You won’t get new features
    • You won't have access to services like bankfeeds
    • We won’t be able to support that version in future
