Offline mode of MYOB AccountRight desktop is being phased out

Move your company file online for more automation, better security and access to the latest product improvements.

What’s happening?

From 17 June 2026, offline mode is no longer available for MYOB AccountRight desktop version 2026.5 (PC edition). Future releases will only work with company files stored online.

This means if your file is not online after 17 June 2026, you will not be able to open, edit or save your offline file.

AccountRight desktop isn't going anywhere. The only change is that your company file needs to be online to receive product and security updates, support and online services.

What's changing and when?

Key date:

17 June 2026

MYOB AccountRight desktop version 2026.5 (PC edition) only works with company files stored online. Offline mode is no longer available.

From MYOB AccountRight version 2026.5 (PC edition), you’ll no longer be able to open, edit or save files stored locally (in My Library or Network Library).

Why are we making this change?

The offline version of MYOB AccountRight is built on technology that no longer meets today’s performance standards. Moving online helps you:

  • ✓ Improve performance, reliability and security, such as 2FA and regular online back-ups
  • ✓ Use MYOB AccountRight on current, supported technology
  • ✓ Receive ongoing improvements and new features, including stronger AI capabilities
  • ✓ Stay aligned with the way MYOB AccountRight will continue to evolve

We’re continuing to invest in modern online experiences that help our customers work more efficiently.

What is AccountRight offline mode?

AccountRight offline mode is where your company files are stored directly on your computer or network without an internet connection.

The way to tell depends on which AccountRight PC edition version you're using.

AccountRight PC edition 2026.4 and earlier

  • A file is already online if it appears under Online, or appears after you sign in to online services.
  • A file is offline if it only appears under My Library, or Network Library

AccountRight PC edition 2026.5

Only online files are shown. If you can't see your file, it's offline and needs to be moved online for continued access.
